Scott's work examines the economic impact of superstar players in the NBA using data from a secondary ticket marketplace to measure the change in prices when superstars are announced not to play. He finds significant reductions (10-20%) on average for the top stars, including LeBron James and Stephen Curry, and even larger reductions (up to $75/ticket) when these players miss a game in an opposing team's city, since they only play in each of these cities at most twice per year.
